Advance your career with the skills needed to lead credit analysis at a senior level.
Completion of this Learning Path builds the full credit capability required to underwrite a commercial business loan request independently—from initial assessment through a complete, defensible credit recommendation—based on disciplined interpretation of both hard data (financial statements, cash flow, tax returns) and soft data (management assessment, borrowing causes, risk signals, and performance implications).
This curriculum is targeted at individuals who typically have two or more years of experience as a Credit Analyst and are ready to move from competent analysis to consistent, senior-level credit judgment. To achieve certification as a Senior Analyst, learners must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of how to properly use and apply cash flow statements in the credit decision process—moving beyond proxies and surface indicators to the underlying drivers of debt capacity, repayment reliability, and risk. Through successful completion of the Primary Learning Path, learners also develop the ability to use federal income tax returns to analyze both borrowers and guarantors—an essential skill when income, liquidity, and repayment support do not appear clearly in accrual statements alone.
The Secondary Learning Path provides specialty lending depth for analysts supporting portfolios that extend beyond general C&I. These curricula develop the ability to recognize what is "different" about certain borrower types and adjust analysis accordingly—without losing underwriting discipline or consistency.
Upon successful completion of this Learning Path, the employee will be eligible to receive a Senior Analyst Certificate of Mastery.
